Ladies First

Ladies First and the Composers Concordance Records Present:
The inaugural event in an invigorating new series

Ladies First
Held at New York City’s historic Bohemian National Hall, this is an evening of luminescent music.
Brought to you by Milica Paranosic, Keve Wilson, and Lynn Bechtold, three transcendent female musicians at the cutting edge of New York City’s contemporary music scene, the concert/event will be co-organized by Composers Concordance Records, Bohemian National Hall, and the Czech Center. Join us for a glorious evening of good art and good causes—made for and by women. The Bohemian National Hall, a venerable hub of New York’s Czech and Slavic culture since the 19th century, sets the tone for the evening. It is an ideal space in which to showcase music with Bohemian flair: nomadic, free-spirited, romantic, and progressive. The event will highlight a mix of classical masters, like Dvorak, and debut compositions by some of NYC’s hippest musicians. An inspiring and notable woman who uses her celebrity to further social justice will be honored with the first Ladies First Award, and a percentage of ticket sales will be donated to the selected honoree’s charitable foundation. In addition, video installations featuring interviews with inspiring women will help to usher in this celebration.
As women, we reach into the past for the foundation of our strength and art, while embracing the opportunities of the present and future.
